Green Tourism

At DoubleTree Hilton Edinburgh City Centre, we believe travel should enrich the world — not harm it.

That’s why we’ve support our Green Tourism Initiative, a long-term commitment to protecting the environment, supporting local communities, and inspiring responsible travel.

What We’re Doing

  • Reducing Our Footprint – We’ve cut down on single-use plastics, introduced energy-efficient practices, and prioritize eco-friendly suppliers across our operations.

  • Supporting Local Communities – We partner with local suppliers, charities, and projects to ensure that tourism directly benefits the people who call our destination home.

  • Protecting Nature – From water of Leith clean-ups to rewilding conservation project, we actively invest in preserving the natural beauty that makes travel so rewarding. For every 2 delegates attending on of our Green Daily Delegate Rate meetings we plant 1 tree in our grove.

  • Encouraging Sustainable Choices – We make it easy for our guests to choose greener options—whether it’s selecting items of our menu based on our Kilmato carbon footprint information on our menus, filling your own water bottle during your conference from our water stations, or traveling here via the numerous local public transportation options.

Why It Matters

Tourism has the power to create meaningful change. By choosing greener practices, we help preserve cultural heritage, protect biodiversity, and ensure future generations can explore the same wonders we enjoy today.
